SAS: Who Dares Wins 2022 release date: Channel 4 series is back
Here's everything you need to know about series 7 of the Channel 4 show.
Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins has exploded onto small screens for season 7, as 12 brave recruits take on the toughest challenges yet in the Jordanian desert under the charge of Rudy Reyes and Remi Adeleke.
Ex-US recon marine Rudy heads up a new team, including ex-US Navy SEAL Remi, and returning stars Billy Billingham and Jason Fox aka 'Foxy', as they test the physical and psychological resilience of their recruits.
The series opened with an emotional first episode as the show's youngest recruit Dylan Kiss, 20, told two instructors that his mum, Michelle, was one of the 22 victims of the Manchester bombing of 2017, which happened after an Ariana Grande concert.
"Because I lost my mum, I lost the main part of the key to our family, and I owe her to be the best person that I can be. So, I will keep striving for the moon and keep working hard every day, and be a strong person for my family," he said.
Recruit Nic Brennan, a 40-year-old firefighter from Warrington, also opened up about undergoing gender reassignment surgery after feeling "like a boy trapped in the wrong body."
"I wish I could have done something about it a lot sooner," he told Rudy and Jason. "Or even better, been born correctly. But I try to make the best of the hand that I’ve been dealt."
Meanwhile, SAS Who Dares has announced that they are already looking for applicants for the next series, and in particular, for "fierce women" to get applying.
This year, the season will feature tougher challenges and even more intense pressure for the 12 recruits, as they're put through their paces in the the new location of the Jordanian dessert.
New instructor Adeleke told RadioTimes.com in an exclusive interview, "What I love about this show, it's not just about entertainment. That's a part of it. But you know, pouring into people's lives. It's about taking people who are probably some of them at the lowest point in their lives, socially, mentally, and helping them work through a battle that they're facing."
Speaking of the new approach that Reyes has brought to the show, returning star Mark 'Billy' Billingham told us, "It was just different [before] to the way it is now and we've adapted to that and I think the audience will love it. And maybe the next one, who knows what we'll change up?"
Another familiar face, Jason 'Foxy' Fox, has been chatting about the the show too. He revealed that the instructors do have to push back against the producers at times when it comes to ideas for challenges.
Foxy said, "The producers will always be like, 'Ooh can we do this? And can we do that?' and we're like, 'Well, we can do it', but we never f**king did it. 'Why not?' 'Because it's stupid.'"
To see which challenges made it into the show and how the new contestants fare, you'll just have to tune in! Keep on reading for all the details on the 2022 season of SAS: Who Dares Wins.
